English is a Northern European Language. It is the language of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. The other Northern European languages are for example Irish, Dutch, Flemish, French and German and they are respectively the languages of Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. There are other dialects like Gaelic, Welsh, Scottish and Norman.
